Ladybug

This ladybug completes an order! The customer wanted a purple and black ladybug. So, here it is!  YAY!
Complete with crocheted antenna for her little one.

Here is the completed order.

Can't wait to see pictures of her little ones with them.

Dinosaur!

RARRR!! Another of the stuffed animals I've had an order for. She wanted blue and orange and no buttons because it's for a one year old. So yarn can be used to create detail and still be super cute!

Busy Lady!

Well, I didn't blog my new stuff last night, so there will be three different things I'm adding today. Like the title says, I've been a busy lady.

The first thing I did yesterday was a basic pink beanie with earflaps. It will fit up to 6 months. It's made with a fleece like yarn and it's super soft and super warm. The customers who have order these in this yarn absolutely love the softness of it for their little ones. This hat is available for sale.

The next thing I worked on was a request from a lady. She wanted an animal hat for her little man, either a dinosaur, shark or monkey. At first I wasn't very confident in my ability to make a dinosaur, but I got brave enough to try it out and I think it turned out wonderful! If this isn't what she was looking for it will be available, as of right now it's currently unavailable.

This is what I accomplished today. A friend of my mine from high school has 3 little ones and wanted to know if I could make her a stuffed ladybug, bumblebee and dinosaur. The ladybug I knew I could do as I've made one (believe it's the post after this one). The bumblebee and dinosaur were a different thing. The ladybug I had a pattern for and did not for the others. So this afternoon I set out to try the bumble bee, she wanted it in pink and black. I added pipe cleaner antenna and per her request I will be crocheting the antenna instead. She was afraid her almost 3 yr olds would attempt to swallow the pipe cleaners. :0)

If you have any questions about ordering an item I've already made, or would like one custom designed to your tastes feel free to me.

Ladybugs and Pods

Those go together right? Lol, well I have finally finished my Ladybug Newborn Gift Set. I am very happy with how it turned out. It comes with three pieces, a hat, a pair of booties and a stuffed ladybug. Great as a baby shower gift. The first pic is the set and the following pics are close ups of the individual items.

The booties and the ladybug both have ladybug buttons for even more cuteness. Email me for questions or prices at meganscrochet@gmail.com

Ahh the baby pod. I bought this yarn and originally wasn't sure if I liked it. But after making this baby pod this morning, I love the yarn!
Baby pods are meant as a photography prop (I would give examples, but I don't have a newborn and don't know anyone with one, lol). You can search online for "baby cocoons" or "baby pods" and you should be able to find an example.

Cows & Cocoons

Odd title right? Well I was a very busy lady today crocheting my heart out. A friend of mine has a son and her son's girlfriend is in love with cows! She asked if I could make a cow hat...so first thing this morning, I set out to figure it out and the results were fantastic!

Isn't it just adorable??? This was made for an adult, so yes, us big people can have some fun too! It was probably the most challenging one I have made yet. Well worth the time and effort I believe.

After finishing the cow, I set out to try a new baby pod or cocoon. These are photography props and are not meant to hold your baby in for long periods of time. They are great for newborn portraits and can be made larger for older babies. This yarn was left over from a previous project and I have acquired so much yarn lately, I decided I really needed to start using it up before I go and buy more. Here is what my leftovers made.

These are meant to fit snugly around a baby, like swaddling.

Another order completed!

I have completed another order! The gal I made this one for wanted the sytle I had made for my daughter (the pink/purple with flower/jewel). I received her measurements and got to work! She wanted pink and royal blue and she wanted her flower/jewel lower than the one on my daughters hat. I hope she loves it! Her sister is taking it to her in a few weeks and I can't wait to see what she thinks!

Baby Model

Well I've used baby Jacob as a model for different things and it was finally time to make him a hat. His mommy has been putting off buying a hat for him, because she wanted me to make him one. And after having to pick out different yarns, we finally came to something we were happy with. It turned out sooo cute!

His mommy promised a pic, so hopefully I'll get that and can post it here! This one is made with fleece yarn and is super warm and super soft.

For questions email me at meganscrochet@gmail.com

UPDATE!
Here is baby Jacob in his new hat! His mommy is thrilled and loves it!

Cupcake

After showing my donut pincushion to a girlfriend, she suggested making a cupcake pincushion! So I set off to make one. The first one I made looks more like a pink and white mushroom than anything else. So I'm opting not to show it. My friend thought it was cute, so she placed an order for one for her daughter. Only this time she wanted a chocolate cupcake with pink frosting and a cherry.
So I made this one just a little different from the first. I scaled it down a bit. so as not to look like a mushroom. And for the frosting, in order to give it a swirled look I alternated white and pink yarn. The bottom has a piece of cardboard inside for more stablization.
This could be used as a pincushion, where the pins would look like sprinkles. Or would make cute decorations for your sweet baby girls room, or maybe your little one likes to "cook" dinner and serve you a plastic chicken like mine does. I would prefer this cupcake to the chicken. :0)

Pretty Ear Warmers

My mom and my sister keep telling  me about a specific style of ear warmers they're seeing. And after finally seeing some myself, I managed to make some! A girlfriend of mine has black and white winter coats/vests etc so she wanted ear warmers in black and white. I strayed a little from what she asked for and of course told her if she didn't care for it I would still make the one she asked for. She came by to look at it and fell in love! YAY!

These are wider and then taper at the back, I fastened with one button for a custom order. Otherwise two can be added so there is room for adjustment.
The flower I did here is different than the previous flowers I have made. I prefer this flower to the other one, it's prettier and has more depth.

Batter Up

A friend of mine requested a baseball hat for her little man of 4 months. She herself loves baseball and I'm sure one day her little man will also. She requested a white hat with the red stitching.
Here's the finished hat w/out ear flaps:

And then when she got it, she wanted ear flaps added to, so I put some on real quick and I think it worked out really great! Here's little man in his hat.

What my girlfriend like about this baby hat, is that while he's in the carseat, she's not concerned about the hat choking him. A lot of winter hats have ties that go around the chin and this is not something she wanted him wearing while in the car. So I made her one with no ties and little man's head is warm in the car, and mom doesn't have to worry about him being choked.

The shape of this one reminds me of the "old time" football helmets. So I'm thinking I'm going to make one in brown without the holes in the ear flaps.

Email me for any questions.

Hooot Hoot!

I fell in love with this hat and so has everyone else. When I originally told people I was making an owl hat, I got the reaction of "oh..." but once they saw it, "it turned out soo much better than I thought!" So here it goes!

I can make one for your cutie as well! All I need is the age of your kiddo and 3 colors you want. For prices, contact me via my email meganscrochet@gmail.com

Baby Cocoons

Baby cocoons seem to be the hot thing in newborn photography. You can look at almost any baby photography website and see these. These are just a few I have made.

Butterfly
This is one is the first one I made and it ended up being too big for just one newborn...but would be perfect for twins. The cocoons are meant for a snug fit, like swadling.

Football
This one would be great for a little boy who's daddy is a football fanatic.

Naturally Blue
Since I don't have a newborn laying around to use as a model, I frequently use my daughters baby doll. The baby doll is much smaller than a newborn would be, but with the doll you can get the idea of what it would look like. Instead of a hood on this one, I decided to make a hat using a different color for some contrast, but adding the blue circle to tie it together.

Super Chic

Made this hat, just messing around trying to come up with something different to do.

It will fit 0-3 months. Thanks to Baby Jacob for being my wonderful model!

Donut Pincushion

I found a pattern for a donut pincushion...I love it! Something a little different than the typical tomato pincushion. And what's great about the donut, because it's crocheted, you can slide a safety pin into it and latch it. Whereas with the tomato, you cannot latch and run the rist of poking yourself. With a magnetic bowl, everything becomes magnetized. Pins, scissors, even the ironing board can all become magnetized. That's why the donut pincushion is great!

This is a donut I made for a friend. She requested a cream donut with chocolate icing, because that is her favorite donut. I can do any flavor donut with any flavor icing. I'm waiting for someone to request a strawberry donut! Mmm!

Another Collegiate Ear Warmer

A friend is a Roll Tide fan and she wanted a set of ear warmers in crimson and white. She however didn't want a big elephant on her ear warmers...I can't really blame her. She bought the yarn and buttons and brought them to me and I put it all together this evening. I really hope she likes it! When she comes to pick it up, I'll be sure to snap a pic of her in it and post if she'll let me!

UPDATE!!!!
She received her hat and loved it!  Even let me snap a pic of her in it! YAY!
